This movie is, without doubt, the very best movie of the year, not just “one of”. Critics praise it overwhelmingly——“It does not content to be just A Good Film -- but, rather, A Great Film. And, on certain levels, maybe even An Important Film.”
我只是为了完成老师的作业。我只是为了完成老师的作业。The huge flying object floating in the mid-air above Johannesburg, and more than one million aliens take refuge on the earth, they are forced to live in a ghetto called: District 9. At first glance, there is nothing new. No, this is not another alien movie. This movie is smart, it casts an reflection on humanity.
我只是为了完成老师的作业。我只是为了完成老师的作业。我只是为了完成老师的作业。Thirty years ago, aliens made first contact with Earth. Humans waited for the attack of the aliens, or the giant advances in technology， but neither came. Instead, the aliens were refugees, so humans set up a home in South Africa's District 9, and the world's nations argued with what to do with them.
I shed tears over the humanity, ironically, displayed by the very non-humans who accidentally fell to earth, lost the fuels to flee from this uncompassionate planet, reduced to refugees scavenging in garbage mountains with no “alien” dignity at all, and spent the past twenty years gathering enough “fluids” to go back home.
It begins with docudrama style shooting, tells how prawn-like aliens land on the earth, and how they are forced into the ghetto. They lost their control of their mother-ship, their weapons, and they face hostile humans. The peculiar behaviors and shapes are not advantages they can take of on this planet. Before long, some humans learned they can just exploit them as anybody else. It totally blow your mind just to know what will people do when you are hopelessly relocated yourself in a strange place. Not something nice. Do we lost some faith in humanity in this? Yes. We see people trade Cat-food for alien-technologies, which reminds me how Americans buy Manhattan from American Indians. The incident happens in South Africa, not long ago the country separated the black and the white, remember ? And we see government sneakily take some aliens for medical experiments. When aliens population grows and the human-alien interaction become ugly, the government just relocate them to a far-barren place. Is it another reminder of how American indians were forced to be relocated?
Time after time, humans’ patience over the alien situation has run out. Control over the aliens has been contracted to a company named MNU.
The “fluid” splashed out and spattered on Wikus’ face. Wikus starts to
He has 72 hours to feel every change, not only to the body.
He has 72 hours to drown in the loneliness so deep that any weak heart would sink.
He has 72 hours to find the only thing that can lift his hope——love.
When the main character accidently sprays himself with alien fluid, and start transforming to alien, people just see another chance to get power. Because alien developed weapon can not be operated by human. Now government as well as gangsters act the same way to try to get hold this transformation. And I am happy seeing government soldiers and gangsters kill each other in the movie.
The hero named Wikus is the MNU company's operative officer, he contracts with the aliens that let them to a new place, where more far away from the humans’ city. And while he was working, a mysterious virus begins to changing his DNA.
